Membership

Why Become a Member?

Our objective is to provide a platform through which members help members in paying burial expenses so the family should not feel helpless due to uncertain circumstances created by financial burden.

How it Works

  1. 1. You can become a member of this trust by paying a one-time membership fee of CAD $100.00 and CAD $20 for each dependent (spouse, children under 18, parents).
  2. 2. When someone (either a member or a family member registered with WEMC) passes away WEMC will pay the funeral expenses (up to CAD $6000).
  3. 3. WEMC will withdraw from all registered members an equal amount to cover the cost of the funeral.
  4. 4. Let's say we have a total of 100 members (not including dependents registered with WEMC) and one of the members passes away and the funeral expense is $5000. WEMC will pay the funeral expenses and then withdraw $50 from each members bank account.
